A new year always brings a certain amount of excitement because in a way, it is an opportunity for a fresh start and a chance to set some goals for the coming year. All too often though, it is nothing more than going through the motions. The excitement about new goals and resolutions wears off about the third week of January, and the old self resurfaces. Back to normal.
Well, this year, why not make it different than the past? For me, I have resolved in my mind that it will be different. I’m notorious for setting a bunch of goals, starting on some of them, getting close to completing a few, and completely ignoring the others because “I did not have time.” This year, there will be no more of that. I’m tired of being tired of not following through. Instead of saying that I’m going to do something, or try to do this or that, I am going to start saying “I will.” Because the fact is, the majority of this is mental, and if you can conquer the mental aspect you can conquer just about anything.
So, I don’ t know about you, but I am excited about 2011. I am excited because of the great things that are in store, and I am even more excited at the personal changes that will occur in my life. They are already happening, and I can’t wait to see where I am at this point next year.
