What? A “visioneer”? Yes, it’s something I just made up. Actually, I discovered in a search that it is a brand for a scanner company. But that’s not what I am talking about. When I say “visioneer”, I am referring to someone who creates a vision for his or her life. Now, the source of that vision will vary based on your belief and value system, but I do believe that we all have certain desires and aspirations ingrained inside of us. The question is whether or not we will strive to make them a reality.
Vision is defined as “the act or power of anticipating that which will or may come to be.” A visioneer is in the business of creating and pursuing a vision—seeing a desired future and going after it. When you think of vision, think of something that is bigger than you are, bigger than the goals you set for yourself. It needs to be something that you strive for constantly…it keeps you motivated and gives you direction and purpose.
So, are you a visioneer? Think about that this week. Next time we will discuss what to do with that vision and how to make it a reality.
